Weather Alert:

Closures: --Required maintenance on the U.S. 181 fixed bridge across
Corpus Christi Channel, mile 10.0, in Corpus Christi, Nueces County,
Texas will begin on January 3, 2007. Maintenance to the bridge will
consist of painting the Harbor Bridge. Containment equipment used as
part of the project will reduce the vertical clearance of the bridge by
one foot over the center 150 feet of the navigation channel and three
feet over the remainder of the bridge. The unrestricted vertical
clearance of the bridge is 140 feet above Mean Low Tide (MLT), elevation
0.0 MLT.
Mariners requiring passing through the bridge with vertical clearance
requirements of greater than 135 feet should contact the Texas Department
of Transportation at 361-808-2300 for confirmation of clearance prior to
attempting to pass beneath the bridge and containment netting. The
scheduled work is anticipated to be completed on or about April 1, 2007.

--Jan 10th 2007 Bay Requests to limit the channel in our area to barge
