Current Winds on Corpus Christi Ship Channel: Calm

Weather Alert:

Closures: --Required maintenance on the U.S. 181 fixed bridge across
Corpus Christi Channel, mile 10.0, in Corpus Christi, Nueces County,
Texas will begin on January 9th, 2007. Maintenance to the bridge will
consist of painting the Harbor Bridge. Containment equipment used as
part of the project will reduce the vertical clearance of the bridge by
one foot over the center 150 feet of the navigation channel and three
feet over the remainder of the bridge. The unrestricted vertical
clearance of the bridge is 140 feet above Mean Low Tide (MLT), elevation
0.0 MLT.--

--Jan 10th 2007 Bay Requests to limit the channel in our area to barge
traffic only and at slow bell. No ships will be allowed to pass during
our loading operations. Planned time table is approx 36-54 hours.--

.SYNOPSIS FOR THE MIDDLE TEXAS COASTAL WATERS...OFFSHORE FLOW AND
SEAS WILL SUBSIDE THROUGH THIS EVENING ACROSS THE COASTAL WATERS
AS HIGH PRESSURE SETTLES ACROSS THE AREA. OFFSHORE FLOW WILL
INCREASE ON TUESDAY AS ANOTHER AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS INTO
THE WATERS. FLOW WILL BECOME ONSHORE WEDNESDAY AND WILL INCREASE
TO MODERATE TO STRONG BY THURSDAY AND PERSIST THROUGH FRIDAY AS
LOW PRESSURE DEVELOPS IN THE PANHANDLE. AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE
WILL PRODUCE A CHANCE OF SHOWERS THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.
