*** INNER HARBOR SALINITY RESTRICTION /// Salinity in the main basin
has been recorded at 1.025 (salt). The salinity observations from the
Avery point to Tule basin ranges from 1.015 to 1.011. Therefore, the
Aransas-Corpus Christi Pilots are now recommending vessels take into
account the appropriate salinity estimates and fresh water allowance in
their voyage plan when destined for the Corpus Christi inner harbor. ///

Beginning at 6:00 am, March 11th the Inner Harbor, above the bridge, will
be closed to marine traffic for a continuous 60 hour period, to allow
removal of the Tule Lake Lift Bridge's center span. The bridge span
removal phase of the project is scheduled to end on March 13th at 6:00
p.m. All shipping interests and Port related industries are asked to
begin making contingency plans for this 3-day disruption of marine traffic
above the Tule Lake Lift Bridge. Also, during the two weeks prior to this
time there will be occasional 2 hour closure periods to stage equipment in
preparation for the span removal.


**TX - La Quinta Channel - Dredging

The Dredge Leonard M Fisher will be dredging at the Kiewit Dock in La
Quinta Channel TX in the area of light 12, from 1/8/08 through 4/1/08.
Floating and submerged dredge pipelines will extend behind the dredge on
ether side of the channel to the placement area. A pontoon line will
cross the La Quinta Channel. Dredge tenders and anchor barges will also
be working with the Dredge. Dredging will be performed 24 hours a day 7
days a week. The Dredge Leonard M Fisher can be contacted on channel 12
or 79 VHF FM or by calling 361-920-6700. 30 Minutes notice is required to
open the channel. Mariners are urged to transit the area of dredging
operations at their slowest speed to minimize wake. Proceed with caution
after making passing agreement with the Dredge.

PRESSURE WILL TIGHTEN THE PRESSURE GRADIENT OVER THE GULF TODAY
WITH STRONG NORTHEASTERLY FLOW DEVELOPING AS A RESULT. NORTHEASTERLY
FLOW WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH THROUGH FRIDAY AS HIGH PRESSURE
WEAKENS. OVERRUNNING CONDITIONS WILL MAINTAIN A CHANCE OF LIGHT
RAIN THROUGH FRIDAY. THE COASTAL TROUGH WILL MOVE EAST INTO THE
NORTH CENTRAL GULF OF MEXICO SATURDAY WITH A WEAK TO MODERATE
NORTHEAST FLOW. ONSHORE FLOW WILL DEVELOP BY SUNDAY AND INCREASE
