COASTAL WATERS FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CORPUS CHRISTI TX
324 AM CST THU FEB 2 2012

MIDDLE TEXAS COASTAL WATERS FROM BAFFIN BAY TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL
OUT TO 60 NAUTICAL MILES.

GMZ200-022245-
324 AM CST THU FEB 2 2012

.SYNOPSIS FOR THE MIDDLE TEXAS COASTAL WATERS...
AREAS OF DENSE SEA FOG WILL CONTINUE THROUGH LATE MORNING BEFORE
CONDITIONS GRADUALLY IMPROVE DURING THE AFTERNOON AS DAYTIME
HEATING PROGRESSES AND WINDS INCREASE. SEA FOG WILL BE LESS
WIDESPREAD AND DENSE TONIGHT...AS SHELF TEMPERATURES MODIFY AND
WINDS INCREASE. ONSHORE FLOW WILL INCREASE THROUGH TONIGHT...AS
LOW PRESSURE DEEPENS OVER WEST TEXAS IN RESPONSE TO AN UPPER LEVEL
DISTURBANCE...EXPECTED TO MAINLY STAY NORTH OF THE WATERS.
HOWEVER...AS THE IMPACTS OF THE UPPER TROUGH MOVE EAST...THIS WILL
ALLOW A SURFACE TROUGH TO MOVE EAST INTO CENTRAL TEXAS ON
FRIDAY...WEAKENING THE PRESSURE GRADIENT BY LATE FRIDAY. SCATTERED
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE THEN FORECAST TO DEVELOP FRIDAY
NIGHT AND SATURDAY ALONG AND AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT. WINDS AHEAD OF
THE FRONT WILL GENERALLY BE LIGHT AND THEN BECOME NORTHERLY AND
GUSTY AFTER FRONTAL PASSAGE DURING THE DAY SATURDAY. SMALL CRAFT
ADVISORY CONDITIONS MAY OCCUR SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY AS
WINDS AND SEAS CONTINUE TO INCREASE. ADDITIONAL RAIN CHANCES WILL
OCCUR SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT AS ADDITIONAL WEATHER DISTURBANCES
AFFECT THE AREA.
