COASTAL WATERS FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CORPUS CHRISTI TX
719 AM CST THU FEB 16 2012

MIDDLE TEXAS COASTAL WATERS FROM BAFFIN BAY TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL
OUT TO 60 NAUTICAL MILES.

GMZ200-170215-
719 AM CST THU FEB 16 2012

.SYNOPSIS FOR THE MIDDLE TEXAS COASTAL WATERS...
A DENSE FOG ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR ALL MARINE AREAS
THROUGH EARLY THIS MORNING AS A WARM AND MOIST AIRMASS PERSISTS
OVER THE COOLER WATERS. VISIBILITIES SHOULD INCREASE THROUGH THE
MORNING AS DRIER AIR PUSHES DOWN FROM THE NORTHWEST. LIGHT AND
VARIABLE WINDS EARLY WILL INCREASE TO MODERATE LEVELS THIS
AFTERNOON. THERE IS A CHANCE OF SHOWERS ON TODAY. A COASTAL
TROUGH IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP FRIDAY AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE
DEVELOPMENT OF RAIN OR SHOWERS. AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL
MOVE ACROSS THE REGION FRIDAY NIGHT AND PROVIDE WIDESPREAD
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. STRONG OFFSHORE FLOW WILL DEVELOP BY
EARLY SATURDAY IN RESPONSE TO THE COASTAL TROUGH MOVING AWAY FROM
THE REGION AND A COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH THE AREA. WIND SPEEDS
WILL DECREASE LATE SATURDAY THEN BECOME ONSHORE BY SUNDAY
AFTERNOON.. ONSHORE FLOW WILL INCREASE ON MONDAY AS LOW PRESSURE
DEVELOPS IN THE SOUTHERN PLAINS IN RESPONSE TO AN APPROACHING
UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE.
