COASTAL WATERS FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CORPUS CHRISTI TX
ISSUED BY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX
931 AM CST THU DEC 5 2013

MIDDLE TEXAS COASTAL WATERS FROM BAFFIN BAY TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL
OUT TO 60 NAUTICAL MILES.

GMZ200-060430-
931 AM CST THU DEC 5 2013

.SYNOPSIS FOR THE MIDDLE TEXAS COASTAL WATERS...
DENSE SEA FOG WILL CONTINUE THROUGH NOON AHEAD OF STRONG ARCTIC
COLD FRONT. THE ARCTIC FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE NORTHERN BAYS
THROUGH THE LATE MORNING HOURS AND THROUGH THE SOUTHERN BAYS AND
INTO THE GULF WATERS BY AROUND 1 PM. THERE IS A CHANCE FOR
SHOWERS NEAR AND ALONG THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY TODAY. MODERATE TO
STRONG OFFSHORE FLOW AND INCREASING SEAS WILL DEVELOP BEHIND THE
FRONT BY MIDDAY. WINDS WILL TAPER OFF SLIGHTLY THIS EVENING AND
OVERNIGHT..THEN BECOME STRONG AGAIN BY SUNRISE ON FRIDAY AS THE
PRESSURE GRADIENT TIGHTENS. AREAS OF RAIN WITH A POSSIBLE
THUNDERSTORM ARE EXPECTED TONIGHT AND EARLY FRIDAY MORNING...AS AN
UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE COMBINES WITH MOISTURE RISING ALONG A
COASTAL TROUGH. CHANCES FOR LIGHT RAIN WILL THEN PERSIST ON FRIDAY
AND SATURDAY AND TAPER OFF BY SUNDAY. REINFORCING COLD AIR WILL
MOVE OVER THE WATERS BEGINNING MONDAY MORNING...ONCE AGAIN
CREATING STRONG OFFSHORE FLOW AND HAZARDOUS SEAS MONDAY INTO
TUESDAY.
