COASTAL WATERS FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CORPUS CHRISTI TX
917 AM CDT TUE MAR 17 2015

MIDDLE TEXAS COASTAL WATERS FROM BAFFIN BAY TO MATAGORDA SHIP CHANNEL OUT TO 60 NAUTICAL MILES.

SEAS ARE PROVIDED AS A RANGE OF THE AVERAGE HEIGHT OF THE HIGHEST 1/3 OF THE WAVES...ALONG WITH OCCASIONAL HEIGHT OF THE AVERAGE HIGHEST 10 PERCENT OF THE WAVES.

GMZ200-180330-
917 AM CDT TUE MAR 17 2015

.SYNOPSIS FOR THE MIDDLE TEXAS COASTAL WATERS...
A GENERALLY WEAK ONSHORE FLOW IS EXPECTED THROUGH WEDNESDAY...AS A WEAK COASTAL TROUGH OVER THE WESTERN GULF OF MEXICO MOVES TOWARD THE COAST...AND HIGH PRESSURE MOVES INTO THE NORTHERN GULF OF MEXICO. VERY MOIST DEW POINTS WILL MOVE OVER THE COOLER SHELF WATERS TO PRODUCE AREAS OF SEA FOG OVER THE NEARSHORE WATERS AS WELL AS THE BAYS AND WATERWAYS...WHICH WILL PERSIST THROUGH THE MORNING. AN UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL APPROACH SOUTH TEXAS TODAY...INCREASING THE CHANCES FOR RAIN AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH TONIGHT...MAINLY OVER AREAS CLOSER TO THE COAST. RAIN CHANCES WILL DIMINISH ON WEDNESDAY AS THE UPPER LOW MOVES NORTHEAST. A WEAK TO MODERATE ONSHORE FLOW WILL THEN OCCUR FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE WORK WEEK WITH GENERALLY LOW SEAS. ANOTHER WEATHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE REGION BY THE WEEKEND BRINGING ADDITIONAL CHANCES OF RAIN ALONG WITH AN OFFSHORE FLOW.
