Subject:11 September - CRP - UPDATES - INVEST 95L
Date:Tuesday, September 11, 2018

National Weather Service: <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:#000090">Invest 95L is a disorganized surface trough with shower and thunderstorm activity currently moving towards the Yucatan Peninsula. 95L is expected to track over the Yucatan today and enter into the Gulf of Mexico. While vertical wind shear should keep the system disorganized in the short term, wind shear is expected to decrease allowing for a marginally favorable environment to develop. With this environment, 95L has been given a 60% chance of development into a tropical depression/storm by the National Hurricane Center, either late Thursday or Friday as it tracks generally towards the Texas Gulf Coast, with current indications it will push ashore near Corpus Christi on Friday evening. Most models do not indicate the system developing to hurricane strength, but offshore seas could still reach 10', with wind gusts to gale force. Regardless of development, heavy rain (4"-8") is forecast for Texas through the weekend.
