U.S. Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:#000090"> conducted a Port Coordination Team (PCT) conference call today at 0915 hours, for the Ports of Corpus Christi, Point Comfort, Victoria and Brownsville. The Coast Guard are closely monitoring tropical weather, specifically Invest 95L.

<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:#000090">

National Weather Service: <span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:#000090">Invest 95L moved over the Yucatan Peninsula overnight, and it remains a tropical wave with disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity in the southern Gulf of Mexico. Latest satellite imagery indicates a lack of a surface circulation with the tropical wave. Despite the disorganization and lack of a surface circulation, the overall environment is forecast to become more favorable over time as the wave tracks to the northwest. As a result, there continues to be a high potential for tropical development of 95L with tropical storm force conditions possible to the western Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center (7 AM Wednesday update) is calling for a 60% chance of tropical development through 48 hours and a 60% chance of development through 5 days. The worst-case scenario would be that the system would reach low-end tropical storm just before landfall, but the more likely case is that it will not even be a tropical depression. Whether or not this system develops, look for more periods of showers and thunderstorms beginning tomorrow and into the end of the week and the start of the weekend. This could increase our area's risk of flooding especially where heavy rainfall has already occurred, especially since we anticipate an increased tide level of 1-2 feet by Thursday evening. Offshore, we anticipate 3-5 foot seas and increasing winds late Thursday, but the severity depends upon the development of the system.

<span-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:#000090">The Captain of the Port, US Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi, has posted Port Condition X-Ray for all ports within the Sector's area of operations as of 0830 hours today. An MSIB will be released shortly. Condition Whiskey was skipped intentionally. USCG will continue to host Port Coordination Team conference calls as they monitor the approaching storm front. The next call will be held today at 1500 hours. WGMA will participate in the call and report to our membership.
