Middle Texas coastal waters from Baffin Bay to Matagorda ship channel out to 60 nautical miles.

Seas are provided as a range of the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves...along with occasional height of the average highest 10 percent of the waves.

.SYNOPSIS FOR THE MIDDLE TEXAS COASTAL WATERS...
Moderate onshore flow much of today will strengthen to strong levels offshore tonight. Large seas will also develop. Numerous to widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected today and tonight as a cold front approaches. The front will move through the coastal waters before sunrise Saturday morning with a moderate to strong offshore flow developing in its wake. Numerous to widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms will push east of the waters during the day on Saturday. Strong offshore flow and elevated seas will continue from Saturday night through possibly Sunday afternoon. Winds and seas will slowly weaken late Sunday into Monday. Onshore flow will develop on Tuesday, and increase Tuesday night, as the surface high moves east and low pressure develops near the Texas Panhandle.

.REST OF TODAY...Southeast wind 10 to 15 knots increasing to 15 to 20 knots late in the afternoon. Seas 4 to 6 feet with occasional seas up to 8 feet. A chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms late in the morning, then showers and a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

.TONIGHT...South wind 15 to 20 knots shifting west after midnight. Seas 4 to 6 feet with occasional seas up to 8 feet. Showers likely in the evening. A chance of thunderstorms. Rain showers after midnight.

.SATURDAY...Northwest wind 15 to 20 knots increasing to 20 to 25 knots in the afternoon. Seas 5 to 7 feet with occasional seas up to 9 feet. A chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning, then a slight chance of showers in the afternoon.

.SATURDAY NIGHT...Northwest wind 20 to 25 knots. Seas 5 to 7 feet with occasional seas up to 9 feet.
